WB shocks us like mad
August 15 2008 06:05 PDT
Right. There are these few events in a lifetime that leave you breathless and possibly speechless—that might be the day you get your (laughably) good IB results or when you find out the ending of the book you have been anticipating for a long time.
This time around it’s Harry Potter that shocks us. WB has, in a surprise move, pushed back the release date for Harry’s sixth adventure "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" to JULY 2009. Yes, they DID push the date back 8 months. As if that is not ridiculous enough (David Yates had recently announced they were adding the final touches to the film), the real reason behind the whole dilemma is that WB wants to have a summer release (many movies had to be moved back indefinitely due to the writers' strike). In other words, we have to wait for another 8 months, just because WB wants to have a good summer. Thank you. We really appreciate it.
The good news is that there will be two Harry Potter movies next year. Next to "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", also the first part of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will be released in November. Unless they move that too.
Site updates

Just a quick note on the updates: The Twilight pictures are finally online (after I spent an hour making thumbnails, I really regret ever introducing that system). I also wrote synopsis for the remaining books of the Twilight Saga "New Moon", "Eclipse" and "Breaking Dawn". I tried to keep spoilers out, so it is very hard to give a good review, especially for "Breaking Dawn", where the whole book is full of new material.
I’ll keep working on the page in the next few days so keep checking back for updates. Hopefully we will have some new fanlistings on upcoming soon as well.
Breaking Dawn and new content ideas
August 09 2008 06:35 PDT
Hey everyone!
Yes, we are still alive. Lena is currently enjoying a family vacation in Arcachamps at the Atlantic, while I managed to get my hands on one of Geneva’s first copies of Breaking Dawn, the final book in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga. It took the Swiss only four days more than the US to publish it; I guess that’s quick for Swiss standards, but I suffered from the lack of suitable reading material and it made it seem longer than that. I finished the book in good twelve hours of intense reading (since I didn’t have time during the day, I moved my reading session to times well past midnight), and although I must say I’m surprised, I enjoyed reading it.
This means that there will be a book review online very soon. To add to that, I finally got started on picture thumbnails for the upcoming Twilight movie, so they should be up in not too much time (now that I’m used to staying up after midnight). I also had a very intriguing idea concerning new content. If you read my profile, you know I’m obsessed with fanfiction of all sorts (whether Twilight, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, US5) and I thought I might put up a page where I recommend my favourites. Maybe, just maybe, that will get you hooked too!
That much for now. I hope you are all enjoying your summer and those who have to go to school again (yes, there are countries *cough* Germany *cough*, where students are already being exposed to the torture of school life), let that not ruin the summer mood.
Twilight Section online
June 19 2008 13:22 PDT
Just here to tell you that while watching a very nice Portugal—Germany game, I worked on the Twilight section, which is nearly finished now. Just the pictures missing, but I cannot be bothered to do the thumbnails right now. I excuse myself. Anyway, enjoy!
Goooooooood, 10 minutes left of this game… I’m gonna die by the end of this.
New gadget and content update
June 17 2008 12:19 PDT
As promised, I have revised the collective and edited some content. There is some new information on the "About us" page (including a new photo) and on the "obsessions" page. On top of that, a little special section about Lena’s and my favourite movie "Pride & Prejudice" is online, with some background information, extracts and a little biography of author Jane Austen.
Then there is a tiny new gadget at the bottom of the navigation. I installed a shoutbox, so that any visitors can give a little message when they visit the site.
I’m working on the Twilight section, which will hopefully go online soon.
We are back!

After several weeks of intense revision for examinations, we are now finally ready to dedicate some time to our various websites that have been suffering terribly during the last two years (it wasn’t our fault, blame the IB!). The results of the exam come out at the beginning of July and neither of us wants to think of that day (in fact, we will be far away from our homes in Leeds, UK, at that point of time). Let’s hope the last two years of daily torture was worth it.
That’s enough of our lamenting for now. We have a new fanlisting coming up (David Yates, director of the Potter films) and are planning to apply to some in the near future. Also, Lena and I managed to get hooked up with this new thing a lot of you will have already heard about (if you haven’t, then… well… you must be living in an entirely different world!). Actually, I got pretty excited about it and then got Lena addicted (it seems as if I’m always the one getting her addicted and not the other way around). Long talk, short story. One of our new obsessions is Twilight. Yes, I know, Adult Fiction, vampires, High School girl, love, etc. For those of you who haven’t read the books yet, here is a suggestion: Go out and buy it right now and get going!! What are you waiting for!! *lol* It might sound childish (and in many ways it is), but you will find yourself pulled into a completely different universe altogether once you start reading. You might even start believing in friendly vampires! Hopefully, Lena and I will collect some stuff about Twilight and post it on the site.
So, there we go. I guess I have talked enough for now… Maybe I should just get working…
